That's always a tough question. Everyone has a different opinion of what is meant by "best." Most people who ask the question are asking about quality, reliability, and dependability.
Research organizations such as JD Power and Consumer Reports magazine do annual surveys of automobile owners to find out which brands and models have the best quality and reliability.
Toyota and Honda consistently come out on top of the lists. Scion, Acura, Lexus, Subaru, and Hyundai and Infiniti are also above average in the surveys. Notice that these are all Asian brands. American brands, for the most part, are in the middle with average ratings. Eurpoean brands Mercedes, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Porsche are at the bottom of the ratings. BMW, Volvo, and Audi are average. |
